ESMoA, in collaboration with community partner Mychal's Learning Place, has developed a curriculum to support free and accessible instruction for museum educators that will increase their knowledge and skill in co-developing educational internship experiences for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
FEATURED COURSE: SPREADING THE SPARK OF CREATIVITY

Who should take the course?
This course is designed for both museum educators and museum workers in institutional settings. Its goal is to increase learners comfort and expertise in creating educational internship experiences for young adults with developmental delays. Learners of all abilities are welcome to participate in this course.
What does it offer?
This course will introduce the partnership between ESMoA and Mychal’s Learning place, then walk you through the process of designing your own internship program, complete with readings and user forums. The course has been funded by IMLS and carefully co-created by experts in the fields of arts administration and special needs populations.
How do I take this course?
Each lesson will showcase different aspects of the Mychal’s/ESMoA Internship Program and deepen learner’s knowledge and expertise in designing internships for young adults with developmental delays.

Delivered in concise video tutorials, and supplemental materials, participants will be better able to:
Implement successful strategies for creating internship opportunities for adults with developmental delays.
Create a sustainable partnership model with a non-museum organization.
Advocate for access and resources for adults with disabilities seeking employment in cultural institutions.
