I ran into the same problem, but I couldn’t accept that I’m not good at reverse parking, at least with the Escape. I gave the car to my little brother so he could learn to drive it, and I bought myself a Toyota. I also ordered him some awesome parking sensors from T1A Auto http://www.t1aauto.com/products/ford-escape-parking-sensors-4-piece-kit-front-or-rear-bumper-backup-assist just in case. After all, no one is immune to parking sensors breaking, especially on a 15-year-old car. My brother was very happy with the gift. I went with him a few times to help him drive and offer guidance, but he did very well on his own.
